I wan't to apologize to all of my west coast bretheren beforehand for not properly paying homage to the region that schooled me in my formative years on hip-hop. In the future we hope to dedicate an extensive amount of time covering the influence of the west coast on the rap game. But, for the moment I just feel compelled to put this classic little diddy up. This video comes from the Bay area veteran Mac Mall, who worked with such pioneers as E-40, and Tupac Shakur. In fact this video marks the directorial debut of the iconic Tupac Shakur. The video features a virtual whos who of notable rap figures (e.g. Stretch, Ray Luv, much of Tupac's Thug Life crew.) Stretch; the big dude that kills Mac Mall, was once a close entrusted allegiant of Tupac, but after a falling out over associations with east coast crips, and Bad Boy recording artists, the two had a falling out. This video seems to elicit a lot of nostalgic emotions for me, reminiscent of rap's golden era. Truly an epic tune. TriplesixNinja
