Let me start off by mentioning that this is the third attempt to write
this fucking post since it's collosal grandeur has resulted in some accidental deletion of content! (Hate that shit) Anyway, 2009 has been a brutal journey for the pimpin pens team and much of the economy as well. Our efforts and willingness to grind was tested constantly but in this upcoming year we reflect on those dark times and embrace our newly found stabilty. If you stay down you will eventually come up, as a good friend once told me. Here's a re-cap and hilights of some of our favorite net finds of the last year.

American Prostitute Interviews Part 2: Lorielle

Pimpin' Pens proudly brings you the second installment in the exclusive saga of interviews we've lined up with some of the stars of American Prostitute. This week we bring you the charming Lorielle and her story. As we conducted the interview we uncovered a witty, educated, compassionate and highly motivated woman with a cause and a humble, regular past everyone could relate with. Seeing this genuine side was truly a pleasure with all the negative stigmas and mis-conceptions associated with Prostitution and the Adult Industry nowadays. Come to find out she had a normal childhood like most of us, got good grades in school, excelled in college but sometimes life's obstacles can drastically change the course of ones life. Enjoy this real look into the mind of the multi-faceted Lorielle as she tells her story and reveals the true life of a modern working girl in today's America.

1. What's a typical day like in the life of Lorielle?, your hobbies, etc.
A typical day for me is usually pretty busy. I'm a personal assistant
to the CEO of Hot Commoditeez so I'm always up early checking emails and running any errands that are needed for upcoming documentaries. My hobbies include working out, shopping, cooking, and I like to travel when I have time.

2. We know you want to raise money for charities such as Cervical Cancer, tell us more about that?
By raising money for Cervical Cancer research I feel I can give back
to the community and help educate everyone on this growing epidemic.Cervical Cancer is a slow-growing cancer that may not have symptoms and in 2008 there were 11,070 new cases and it caused 3,870 deaths. I'd like to start a non-profit organization that raises funds for research by catering desserts to parties, weddings and other events.

3. How did you get in the game and eventually become a part of this film?
I was looking for a job one day and I called an escort agency and the
first call they sent me on was with a guy who needed a date for a
wedding. I made more money in 4-5 hours than I did in 2 weeks working a normal 9-5 job. That experience changed my whole perspective about the adult entertainment business. I realized it's not just about getting paid for sex but it's more about playing different roles and being an actress to create an illusion to make men want to pay you for your time.

4. I'm sure you've seen and heard it all in your experiences, do you have any funny or interesting stories to share?
I got a call from a CEO of a bank saying he wanted a lingerie model.
When I showed up at his hotel room he was an older gentleman in a suit and tie and was real soft spoken. He excused himself to use the
restroom and when he came out a few minutes later he was the lingerie model. He was wearing garters, stockings, heels and his bustier even had built in breasts. All he wanted was for someone to tell him how pretty he was. People would really be surprised at how many men have a fetish for wearing lingerie.

5. In your opinion what's different about the film, what makes it unique and appealing?

This film is different because instead of pointing out everything that's negative it's showing the positive side of adult entertainment.American Prostitute is unique and appealing because it gives the females in this industry to express their point of view.

6. There's a lot of lies, stigmas and mis-conceptions about women in you profession, what are your thoughts.
I think there are a lot of misconceptions because for many years
people have been seeing documentaries showing only the bad side of
prostitution and adult entertainment. Many Americans think
prostitutes are only working to support their drug habit and probably
have this picture in their head of some homeless lady with a bunch of
diseases turning tricks in a back alley. There are a lot of educated
females in this industry and hopefully American Prostitute will help
change people's minds.

7. Any final thoughts or shout-outs you want to make?
I'd like to give a shout-out to all the respectable clients that
appreciate the art of adult entertainment and a high class lady.
Also to the producers of American Prostitute who gave me the
opportunity to express my point of view.

This fourth installment in the "Boosieanna" series shows off some new swagger and bangers from the Baton Rouge rapper and icon in the bottom. (Southside Rambo) The mixtape, like the others, has an interesting mix of themes and imagery melded in the tracks like living with surveillance cameras, ( Scarface style ) watching for haters, paranoia, people trying to jack his chain and then transitions to more upbeat content like representing for his city, how his pops was a G, and - oh yeah smoking tons of purps. As usual he tears shit up with his hyped up flow and also offers some more story raps and classic one-liners and ad-libs. Overall the mixtape is solid and offers a tight assortment of songs to compliment your mood.

I'm still draped up and dripped out reclining the top, and after another long hiatus I'm back ready to smack fire out your asses. I've been in the cut during the last fiscal quarter player plotting and strategizing on how to step up my game in the 09. Anyhoo, that is neither here nor there, for now I just wanted to bless you with these darts from Houston. I don't know what it is, but lately I've been bumping a lot of Texas made junts from the likes of DJ Screw, Lil Keke, Z-Ro, Fliperacci and the rest of the Screwed Up Click. The song below by DJ Screw and Lil Keke was the inspiration for our namesake, Pimpin Pens.

Collecting Funkadelics: More Odes and Beatsmiths

In continuation and conjunction with our monthly/end of the year ode to the beatsmiths, it deemed essential to provide a glimpse into the funkadelic works of the 2-headed b-boy bomb squad from the legendary pioneers "Company Flow", (Mr. Len and EL-P). [Especially since I just returned from melting my fucking face away in Holland rummaging through raunchy red lights and exquisite flower markets, and their timeless junts proved to be a rather excellent score.]

Company Flow, or CoFlow, emerged out the NYC indie/underground b-boy era in the early 90's. Comprised of Mr. Len (DJ/Producer), Bigg Jus (mc), and EL-P (rapper/producer) the group levitated towards acclaimed underground fame and gathered a solid following synonymous to cult followings. Their debut album "Funkcrusher Plus" is a prize jewel in any musicians collection. Although they disbanded prematurely, Mr. Len and EL-P managed to release an instrumental opus titled "Little Johnny from the Hospitul", and this my fellow vinyl junkies, displayed a level of beat craftsmanship unparalleled to any that have attempted to venture into this genre of composition.

Little Johnny is the type of record you bang out to once your plane touches down and you light a spliff, or you chew a couple caps in some concrete cluttered city surrounded by urbanites and dust smoke, or if you need to bug up right quick before slappin the shit out some lame, any of the aforementioned will do, all at once would label you a maniac of sorts. Anyway, this record morphs various genres of obscure musical samples distorted and cut up to gutter perfection, layered over a foundation of hard ass bomb-squad esq percussion. I mean, they completely ignore any consideration for traditional "hip-hop" sounding beats, while most other producers during that time were playing copycat or tickle the Triton, nah mean. PP: Give us a little background into how you came up in the rap game? I know you hail from Magnolia in Memphis, can you give us a little insight into growing up there?
II Tone: Well I started rappin in the 7th grade the group was called the outlaws and the title of the album was "Satanic Verses" the group was me,lyrical,and another guy. But after that we was doing the most so we was like we "Da Crime Click".Well yea i grew up in Magnolia in south memphis off of parkway.I was cool growin up in the hood i learned alot i did alot it made me a better person so when i rap all my G'z gone feel me hear my pain in my voice and be like damn i been thou dat i feel him!!!!

PP: I've read that you started your own label at the tender young age of 15. What inspired you to make such a bold move at such a young age?
II Tone: Well I didnt want no one to be like i made you,, I made myself i started doing my own thang me and Groovey he was the 1st one to put me in the studio. i was hustling and playin sports but i would always rap he was like young nigga im gone put you in the studio how much it cost. i wasnt even thinkin bout rappin i want to play basketball and football BUT THE STREETS WAS ALL I KNEW..

PP: The first time I heard you was on the T-Rock Conspiracy Theory album. You spit some potent verses with Area 51 as well as contributing on the production tip. How did that collaboration come about?
II Tone: At the time he left three 6 i was like i can help you get the album done so me and groove got our money together and in 2 day we hit rock and went in the yo and did that album and my album in 3 days 2 whole albums...i know rumors was like secret service but nope it was mid south who did the album the police guy stole it and we never got paid. we took legal action but he was arrested and all the money was taken but i guess if he would just had paid instead on moving and hiding when i was lookin for him he would been ok but i think GOD knew best it was better for them to get him than me cuz i was on some other shit then...

PP: Who were your influences coming up in the game? Rock, Rap, Jazz, Soul, New Wave, Heavy Metal...etc.
II Tone: hmmmm I listen to N.W.A. was like my big thing and Too Short, but i listen to memphis rap Paul and Squeeky,Ball & G..I listen to people i could feel but i even listen to Marilyn Manson i was like damn he wild!!!!!

PP: What is a typical day in the offices of Black Rain like?
II Tone: Shit a typical day is like hmmm im never thur much lol but drink and other shit gettin yo mind right so we can drops some old crazy shit....

PP: How did you link up with the legendary Lord Infamous to form Black Rain?
II Tone: Well me and Lord grew up next door to each other and we always been cool so he knew i was doin my thang and we just sat down and was like lets gone make somethin happen so here it is...

PP: To my knowledge you have two LP's that you've dropped, "Heaven Sent Hell Bound" and "In Too Deep." These CD's appear to be extremely rare and expensive. Is there a place where you can cop these at a decent price, instead of Amazon?

RIP MC BREED

It has recently come to my attention that the Flint, MI rapper MC Breed has recently passed away. MC Breed was one of the early pioneer's of Detroit based gangster rap, and was known to infuse his tunes with the G-funk style popularized by the west coast. Breed aligned himself with all every region throughout his career, working with artists ranging from 2pac, 8ball & MGJ, ICP, Too Short, Warren G, The Dayton Family and The D.O.C. In September of 08 he collapsed due to lung failure while playing a pick-up game of Bball. On November 22, 2008 he passed peacefully while in his sleep. Breed's legacy will be how many alliances he built within the rap game while he was here with us on Earth, take notes. God bless the memory of MC Breed, my prayers go out to his family and friends. He's up in the heavens now pourin up with Pac and BIG, so its all to the good.

However, Crunchy is arguably the most prolific hype man, gangster walking, gun-toting thug to ever enter the rap game. Crunchy deserves major props for his loyalty to the HCP since its inception. God only knows how much work and dirt CB put in, in the name of HCP. I was first introduced to Playa G after interviewing the Memphis/College Park veteran and legend T-Rock. T-Rock shared with me some of his inspirations and Playa G happened to be the only one who I wasn't familiar with previously. Playa G's first CD, Pimp Sh*t is a very rare and out of print remnant of that old school Memphis sound. He is perhaps the utter encapsulation of Memphis in hits heyday, back when DJ Paul and Juicy J were just local cats making underground tapes (editor's note: "Pimp Shit" was released in 1996, Paul and Juice were well entrenched in the rap scene by this time). Some of you may have heard his voice grace the Kingpin Skinny Pimp, "Midnight Hoes" track on the King of Da Playaz Ball cd. Playa G interweaves his music with that G-Funk style popularized by the west coast in the Death Row era. At any rate Playa G deserves to be immortalized in the annals of Memphis gangsta/pimp rap history. And ode to Playa G.

GAME Faces: LAX Album Review

"This gang bangin shit aint nothing to play with, me and Snoop Dogg just made it look easy..." While the GAMES' "Doctor's Advocate" was by far his hardest record, including the fucking basket of mixtapes released over the years, "LAX Files" turned out to be pretty dope as well. The left coast pyru delivers some joints worthy of firing some evergreen spliffies to or dodging duis down US-1. Whatever your vice, fix, or poising the impala dodger caters to the intoxication quite nicely. (Although I did get pretty buck of his last effort as well.) As a nice little kicker to the album, a plethora of different styles and cadences are demonstrated from GAME courtesy of the slew of appearances and features. The man through Nas, Rae, Common, and Ludacris verses up in there, nice! Oh yea, Ice Cube provides a hook on the hard hitting "State of Emergency", guess Cube's taking time away from filming family comedies to try his hand at bangin again, (bring us another triple x Cube). And there's another particular guest spot I found odd, hmm, no it wasn't the spoken word intro/outro from DMX (wtf?), oh yea, motherfucking Lil Weezy Wee jumps on yet another hook, again. For the dipshits out there an element of sarcasm was used in the previous statement. Before I go ape on the over saturated Wayne guest spot movement, let me divert the necessary attention to the really tight junts in this piece.

The Kanye produced "Angel" feat Common is most definitely a banger. Ye brings some smooth sounds and crisp bass lines while GAME and Common contribute their fair share of leaky dust metaphors to the mix, sweet. The Scott Storch produced "Let Us Live" feat Chrissette Michelle (which was actually a divergence from his usual Storchy steelo, thank god) brings a breath of fresh air as GAME comes with a sharpened flow that seemed to have been mentored by Nas, reinforced by the line "...who I sound like don't ask me that's my nigga we classy...". Michelle kills it on the hook too with her classic jazzy chorus'. Some other stand out junts include the Hi-Tek produced "Letter to the King" feat Nas, as somber thoughts and melancholy descriptions fit perfectly over a laid back harmonious Hi-Tek cut, perfect for smoking with your bitch fellas! And of course this next cut right here with Raekwon is a true banger, equipped with that grime gutter rap, cocaine flow, superb word choice and wu recognition. Put your alligator jackets down for this shit:

Evil Pimp sat down and got candid about his plans for World Domination and conquering the rap game. Nuff respect goes out to the evil one for taking some time out to chop it up with some fellow pimps. Enjoy.

Pimpin Pens: First off, what’s going down in the 2008 with Slaughterhouse Records?

Evil Pimp: Well i'm no longer on Slaugterhouse Records due to certain reasons that has do with the way things were ran over there. But it has nothing to do with my CEO Herbie Love he was a good business man straight forward. But people who were handling the cd orders of my last album got slack, lost orders, didnt ship to some people but then shipped to others. The cds were selling so good that they underestimated the demand and didnt hire enough people to handle all that, so in the long run all the drama came back to me when it had nothing to do with me and I cant have that.

PP: Tell us a little about your environment growing up. What experiences molded you into the man you are today?

EP: My enviroment growing up was that of a man-child. I was pretty much on my own from the age 15. I grew up in Westwood Memphis living with my aunti but she was killed so I was shipped to my grannys house in binghampton which is south memphis to go stay. I grew up right around which is probably the worst and poorest parts of the city. So at a early age i was in the streets hustling trying to make ends meet, but due to her health I had to go stay in Cordele, Ga to stay wit family and grew up there for a while also. So being on my own at a young age made me appreciate and value family now as I'm older and the what having a good family structure can bring.

PP: I see that you now reside in Iowa. What’s the status of the rap game in Iowa?

EP: yeah i been here for a minute, but the rap game here is non exhistant as far as a scene which is why i like it here. Theres no crabs in a bucket and the rappers here all work together. There is alot of rappers here but they aint doing shit to just keep it honest. But Iowa is a good place to live if you want to just concentrate on goals witout no bullshit happening which is why I stayed. You still have your chicago natives who come here and try to gang bang and your gang murders but thats everywhere you go.

PP: What were your musical influences growing up? Also, what are you bumping right now?
EP: My music influences was mainly 70's soul just real talk thats all i listened to other then some Triple Six, DJ Zirk, DJ Sound and some Squeek dog. You know I didnt really listen to anything outside of that and still dont. Altho I dont listen to none of them anymore, its my music thats the only thing that stays in my car. I dont even listen to the radio or watch tv.

PP: How did you link up with the Krucifix Klan?

EP: That question is too vague to answer seeing that there is too many members who came and gone from the group and I would be answering that for the next hour.

PP: When did you decide to leave the pimp game and pursue the rap game?

EP: I never left the Pimp game (laughs)

PP: I saw on youtube awhile back that you were in negotiations with Three Six Mafia on a potential project. Where does that stand?

EP: My entertainment lawyer knew their lawyer and my manager told me about it so I had my lawyer holla at their lawyer to get at them and we were trying to work out a deal I was going to pay them 75,000 up front and then we were negotiating the percentage split then their lawyer came at us talking about $300,000 up front (laugh) get the fuck outta here. So i deaded it from there.

PP: Some people compare your rap style to that of Lord Infamous. In my opinion that is not an accurate comparison as there have been numerous artists out of Memphis who rapped with that tongue twisting style. What are your thoughts?

EP: Well people need a reason to hate on me, so they say i bite his style. Now keep in mind I can name off about 30 rappers from memphis who all rap that way. Its nobodys style its a memphis style. Atlanta is the sameway look at all the rappers from their now who all sound the same. Chicago, Texas, Cali, New York they all were raised from their own style of music so they are going to adapt to that style.

PP: What’s your opinion on the current status of the rap game? Are you one of those cats that think hip hop is dead? Also, what’s your perception of the music industry overall?

EP: To be honest hip hop aint dead its zombified. Everyone in this game is zombies clones of the next man. So its not dead because people make music its just that nobody puts any passion into the music anymore, because of the downloading and bootlegging. So they want a quick hit and make that quick money and then dissappear. Plus the fans these days are all about finding a way to hate on the next man. But thats how you know you made it as a rapper in 2008 by the amount of hate you get. Look at Lil Wayne successful black man, but you can go to his youtube pages and see nothing but hate saying "hes a pussy" "he fraud" or "he fake" now that is pure hate, seeing that nobody nobody knows him personally how can we decide who is real or who is fake. back in the 1995 when rap was booming nobody cared about a persons life outside music they just wanted good music. Now people look at a mans picture and try to assassinate his charactor. Its crazy, because of these same fans who hate on us rappers if they ever seen up in person they would be the first ones to want a picture, shake hands and get a autograph.

PP: You’ve been steady flooding the public with your material. How do you stay so focused and productive?

EP: Pussy, Money and Beer. Thats what keeps me motivated and in the studio. Plus I dont work a 9-5, I live off my music so if I dont work I dont eat so I have no time to be in the streets or really enjoying life until I leave this rap game alone which will be soon.

PP: What other artists would you like to collaborate with?

EP: I would love to collaborate with the Devil and take over the world.

PP: What does the typical day in the life of Evil Pimp consist of?

EP: Well first of all I wake up at noon scratch my ass, then go piss because more then likely i am hung over. After that I am off to the studio across town. But now that the new cd is done I have been spending more time in my office and handling some real estate business ya know what I'm saying. But 5 for days a week and 12-18 hours each day I am in studio either mixing or producing. I'm working on the Lady Dead album , we just finished up the Playa Rob album, So I'm either going from Studio A to Studio B to do fuck with something.

PP: What are your hobbies other than rapping and pimping?

EP: Sleeping and Fucking because I do both so well and to be 100 wit ya that is all i do outside of my music.

PP: What are your favorite movies, and television shows?

EP: Goodfellaz alltime favorite movie. But I also like all
zombie movies big zombie movie fan. But when I'm in the studio on my breaks I'll watch Kitchen Nitemare, Still Standing, Seinfeld and King Of Queens. Thats pretty much it other then the News. I love seeing just what a wonderful job George Bush is doing (laughs)

PP: That about does it, any last werdz?

I remember first being exposed to the trillness that is SPM or South Park Mexican. It was 2005 and I was at my boys house and he was playing some assorted Texas junts while we were puffing blunts in Tallahassee, FL home of the FSU seminoles, my Alma mater. Anyway after some standard token Texas funk from the likes of UGK had finished playing along comes a track I wasn't too familiar with. I asked homeboy who I was kicking it with, "who is this dude," to which he replied, "oh that's South Park Mexican, what you know about SPM." Turns out I didn't know shit and was disappointed in my naivete regarding the subject. I pride myself on being privy to all the musical happenings poppin off in the dirty south and I was fascinated with this South Park Mexican character. He represents Screwston, TX to the fullest, especially the eses (chicanos). Hailing from the same stomping grounds that spawned the early 90's horror-core gangsta rapper, Gangsta Nip, SPM has been putting in work for well over a decade to a dedicated following. The first SPM cut I heard was, "I Must Be High", off his 2001 LP Never Change. Recently I fell upon this jewel featuring fellow Texas boss hoggs, Trae and Z-Ro.

Return of the Abacist: Nas' "Untitled" Record Review

We only review records we are extremely fond of, typically the ones' well accompanied by a ginormous cloud of spliff smoke and bitter sweet nostalgia, so naturally, haters are more than encouraged to continue reading.

So Nasty Nas dropped an album previously said to be released under the title of a racial epithet, but so "controversial" he instead left it untitled due to the overabundance of pressure tyrannizing down from the powers bestowed upon a select group of individuals born without genitals. Oh, and for the sake of impartial honesty, I'm a spick, and the album would have been called nigger, we clear? Now that the least important part of the record has been discussed, although the media seems to slowly pleasure themselves on the album title alone, let's keep it moving onto what should be the only important aspect out of any Nas project, the fucking music.

After nine studio records and an armada of impeccable verses, the talking heads still cross their sticky green fingers in hopes of another "Illmatic", what a snore. Bra, it's been over a decade, drop it... that record was by far beyond classic, but my expectations would be dumb enough to wear a fucking halftard helmet if that's where the bar was placed. Besides, you can't expect anyone to bring back a pioneering early 90's style in 2008, that is ridiculously absurd. I mean, do you see me blazing some shwag ass regular nuggery from back in the day? No way, we've upgraded, we lounge with cereal bowls filled with super purple penicillin, and that is exactly where Nas' cadence, style, and word choice has evolved to. He executes lines all over the record with such precision DJ's should be able to cut the grooves backwards while a pair of voluptuous stripper titties are bouncing in their grill. The flavorful choice of gutter phrases spliced with literary word choice displays a certain level of maturity only a trill seasoned veteran can harness. And the selection of beats produced by exceptional artists who aren't necessarily spotlighting but bang sounds out the barracks compliment kid wave's style to perfection (such as Salam Remi, Jay Electronica, Stic.man from Dead Prez, Mark Ronson, Polow Da Don...). Albeit, most of the new generation may turn a curled ear towards the beats, mainly because they'll malfunction and blow masses of fucking iphones to smithereens if used as ringtones, (that's cause they're raw beats dickhead, those that didn't understand or took offense should gargle horse urine out a pimp cup).

But does he tackle the topic effectively? Well, the percussion-less introduction by Jay Electronica allows Nas to explain his position on the project with the rhetoric of a misunderstood thinker, a prisoner of words bound to poetic dust torn between a corrupt industry of jingle peddlers and founders of the greatest cultural and musical era since jazz. From the basic concepts painted with intricate imagery on "You Can't Stop Us Now" (yo he got dude from the stylistics on that joint!) , to the more meaningful tone towards bullshit media coverage on "Sly Fox", to the superb single "Hero", Nas puts together a work of musical expressionism layered deeper than just exploitation, controversy, messages, and concepts. Regardless, "Fried Chicken" and "Project Roach" have single handedly butchered any album cut from any artist this year, chew on that...

Some of you might be familiar with the Disney theme park ride, Mr. Toads Wild Ride. Mr. Toads Wild Ride closed down in 1999 if I'm not mistaken, but his legacy lives on in this classic 1949 cartoon that started it all. J. Thaddeus Toad was his name and he was a true player if I've ever seen one. The cartoon was called Wind in the Willows, and it was the shit to say the least. So there's been some salacious news going down in the rap game currently, and I thought I would put in my two pennies.
Word on the streets is that Rick Ross is certified as a former 50 (police) affiliate. Namely, a corrections officer in one of the pens (penitentiary) in South Miami. Ross repeatedly denied these claims and said that he has always kept it 100% street, gutter, and what have you. Really where Ross fucked up was in the fact that he kept denying these grumblings. Homeboy knows that if your on top of the pedestal your going to encounter a lot of opposition from haters and fugazys. He should have just represented like the former jake (cop) that he was and flaunted it in all of its splendor. Now he's fucked because he was acting in a clandestine and sneaky way. I have no ill will towards Mr. Ross, in fact I was extremely proud of a Miami dude who made such remarkable strides in navigating the heights of the entertainment world. This is going to be quite a conundrum for him to work himself out of, but I pray for him.

On to the next scandal which I have been wanting to comment on for some time. DMX, born Earl Simmons has been having a rough time of it, to say the least, these last few months. He has been arrested like 17 times within the past month alone for all types of fuckery. What a fall from grace. This guy was runnin shit big boy status not too long ago. When Its Dark and Hell is Hot came out he was like the next 2pac or something. However, amidst all the drugs and material trappings the rap game has to offer, he foundered. I don't really no what to say about dude, except I have seen a lot of haters talking slick about X on the internet. Despite his mental health issues I still think that DMX will doll out a savage beating on anyone throwing salt on his game. I'm in DMX's corner supporting one of the last vestiges of realness left in this game. He hasn't really dropped anything significant since Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of my Blood, but on the strength of his first two LP's DMX is still a rap kingpin.

Classic Hip Hop Soundtracks : Tales From The Hood

Released in 1995, Tales From the Hood is a blaxploitation film weaving 4 shorty story vignettes concerning superstitious and paranormal occurrences inside the ghetto enclaves of America. It is sort of a Boyz N the Hood meets Tales From the Crypt hybrid. The film begins with a few unsuspecting drug dealers who show up at the door of a funeral parlor, run by the director Mr. Simms. The drug dealers arrive at the funeral home in search of some misplaced product, and are subsequently admonished with cautionary tales of some of the funeral parlors more eccentric clients. When Mr. Simms finishes his tales of terror, he reveals the sinister truth behind the drug dealers eternal fate.
Tales from the hood is without a doubt a landmark film of the mid-90's and the soundtrack manages to perfectly capture the ethos of the film. Check it!

Kia Shine Responds to 36 Diss

Kia Shine took the high road stance in his recent spat with the Three Six Mafia which took place at the autograph signing meet and greet promo. Shine essentially said that he felt it was his moral obligation to quell the acrimony that has been so ubiquitous over the history of Memphis rap. He said that he thought everything was copacetic with DJ Paul because of prior conversations they had engaged in, in which Kia Shine stated that their relations were amicable. Shine went on to say that he didn't like the way the camera footage was edited either.
I guess everything isn't even stephens, and Paul still remembered the static emanating from Shine back in the day before he became a Memphis household name.

At an autograph meet and greet event in honor of Three Six Mafia's latest album The Last 2 Walk premiering at #5 on the billboard charts in Memphis over the weekend went sour when DJ Paul had some choice words for Memphis upstart Kia Shine. Kia Shine got a dose of humiliation from DJ Paul and Juicy J as his friendly overtures were quickly rebuffed. Kia Shine was accused by DJ Paul of biting or stealing the east coast swag only to later on switch it back up to the Memphis steez (style) when it didn't get results. Kia Shine was escorted of the stage to a jeering audience and an unusually uppity Juicy J, yelling his infamous "shut the fuck up" in his trademark animated voice. DJ Paul also chimed in with a, "what a loser," remark as Kia Shine was escorted of the premises. It appears that Three Six haven't forgotten Kia Shine's jabs a few years ago, where he claimed Three Six were devil worshipers. Check it!

Mr. Sche and T-Rock Vendetta The Album Review

This dark, gritty, cinematic album provides a glimpse into the rotten, blackened, corrupt core of todays cut-throat society. A world of blood soaked side walks, the criminal underworld and the horrible state of the economy and our country due to the sinister stranglehold from our nations hell spawned leaders. Together Mr. Sche and T-Rock form a colossal conglomerate of heathens to face the overwhelming tyranny infecting the globe with a slew of untamed lyrics over hardcore, ferocious, "beat yo ass" beats. This CD is not for the weak-minded, feeble pop-music supporters, rather it's for the enlightened few searching for originality and mega-hard, fist-pumping anthems in todays overwhelming sea on monotony.

Never has T-Rock shined brighter then on this project and Sche, with his unparalleled work ethic dropping multiple albums per year, team up to form a deadly duo. The united efforts of the two Southern juggernauts result in a classic masterpiece just as we expected. The beats inspired by the film are so well produced and layered resulting in a wide-bodied sound and epic composition opening the platform for Sche and T-Rock to spit venom at the President, Terrorists, the Judicial System and other monsters in disguise living amongst us. Picture the nations Capitol up in flames with a huge middle finger emerging from the ashes and debris and you'll catch a glimpse of the feeling of rebellion on this record.

With tracks like "Ain't Seen what I Seen" and "Still Young & Buck" the ingenious, indie-rap kingpins deliver a non-stop barrage of timeless bars and quotables that would have me typing all day so I'll provide some audio instead. After multiple listens I still have the album in my deck and now with a thorough understanding of the project I'm composing this review to share that sense of rebellion that the Rap game has been craving for some time now. Rather than catering to Radio Play these two have always made music for the true G's and playas of yesteryear (early 90's rap era) and I couldn't be more please with the end result.

This shit gets you buck, enlightens, and motivates the mundane to get on your grind like never before. To touch on an earlier topic, T-Rock on a Sche beat is a force to be reckoned with. I've been a fan since the Hypnotize Camp days but he's only improved with age and burns holes though the tracks with each verse he conjures and spits in his rapid-fire delivery style. Sche also delivers a series of mighty, forceful verses with a touch of Pimp Swagger to correspond and compliment his production with underlying themes of motivating others, giving sight to the blind, and peeling back the facade plaguing the planet. To sum things up they keep things super Trill and any fan of these two or aficionados of Southern G-Shit at it's finest definitely go out and cop this album and pass the motivation to those enslaved in a stagnant state of unconsciousness. Rise up and let your voices be heard alongside the battle cries of The Pimpin' Pens Nation!

Quite noticeably to the immediately leaning left you will witness a rather familiar sketch, (for those encumbered in the world of debauchery of course), the fantastic work of Ralph Steadman. RZA AS BOBBY DIGITAL: DIGI SNACKS REVIEW

Its been a long time coming, and digi heads worldwide have been waiting for another installment to the highly acclaimed series of alter-ego spinoff projects from the Abbott of the Wu Tang Clan, the Rza. Perhaps my all time favorite hip hop album was the first Bobby Digital in Stereo, released in 1998 at the pinnacle of the Wu's dominance in the rap game. Bobby Digital in Stereo was groundbreaking in that it was light years ahead of its time as far as production and lyrics were concerned. It was the gangsta rap embodiment of a Stan Lee Comic book, equipped with all the makings of a sci-fi inter-stellar martial arts extravaganza. The imagery that the Rza was capable of evoking was truly visceral and inconoclastic to say the least.
Fast forward now ten years later and you have the Rza's latest incarnation of the Bobby Digital saga. I went to my local CD store and bought this CD the day it came out without any compunction whatsoever. As a matter of fact I bought it without even giving it a cursory listen. I even chose to pass over the latest Three Six Mafia disc, The Last 2 Walk in favor of Prince Rakeem. That is how much faith I have in the Rza. I normally exercise a good bit of discretion when purchasing CD's, especially when you can get them for free. But I still believe in the old days of purchasing CD's. The anticipation that arises after you tear the outer packaging to find the artwork, credits and other hidden knick knacks. The Digi Snacks album however, was conspicuously absent of any cool supporting materials other than the actual CD - which wasn't even an enhanced CD, which both the Rza and Wu have been known to interlace their discs with from time to time to add to the freshness.
On the critical side of things I am sad to say that his latest offering did not live up to my expectations, but then again who am I anyway? In my mind Rza has the artistic license to do whatever he feels fit, and he exercises that right on this offering. The lyrics are onpoint and razor sharp as ever, but in my mind it is the production on this album that holds it back. Aside from the cohesive lead-single "You Can't Stop Me Now," the album as a whole sounds a little disjointed, and downright bizzare. I give him props for pushing the creative boundaries of hip hop, but this shit is even a little too "progressive" for my tastes and you won't find a more staunch and fervent supporter of the Digi movement than yours truly. It's the type of album that you don't mind bumping by yourself just so you can soak up the darts (lyrics) that he is spitting, but you do feel a little akward blasting it out of your speakers at the stop light next to some fine birds (females)-fearing that they think your a wierdo. Much of the album has a jazzy feel to it - I don't know wheather it is Erykah Badhu or Macy Gray who laces the choruses on a few of the tracks, but whoever it is is prominently featured.
The last quip I have about the album is the lackluster choruses and hooks. For instance "Booby Trap" is actually a pretty fresh song but the thing that ruins it for me in the end is the choice for the hook. On "Booby Trap" he spits: "I lounge like a hungry jaguar, into aqua, trying to catch a fish that multiplies like the magwai" - you got to love that. Another out of place contribution comes from the southern emcee/producer David Banner on "Straight out the Block," where Banner helms the production looping some Jay-Z vocals. On this track Rza sounds a little out of his element as if he is trying to cater to the dirty south. Digi Snax also could have benefitted from some more Wu Tang guest appearances- the only member featured was Inspectah Deck and he did his thing. I guess I feel like it is time for Rza to make a return to his gangsta rap roots and come out a little more hardcore à la Gravediggaz style. In the meantime, I will be more than happy to continue bumping this out my tweeters. Other prominently featured guest appearances come courtesy of the Black Knights and Beretta-9. Still, amidst all the nonsense out right now, this album is a breath of fresh air. If I came off like a hater, I apologize. I in know way shape, form or fashion claim to know more about music than the almighty Rza and I will always defer to his greatness. Buy the album

The Atlantic Amazon : Elite Wave Riders Crush the Pororoca

So the other day I was once again confined to a comfortable station on my couch enjoying a rather exquisite spliff, allowing me to mimic zombies and basically sift through satellite channels. When engaging in such an act, I tend to clutter the brain with nonsense so rarely acquired throughout the usual "grind", (of course exceptions will be made for any games, sportscenter, or comedy). At times, these ventures require some sort of assistance, luckily my youngest brother was also in a similar state of mind and casually shifted our viewing focus to some surfing documentary. That's when it hooked me.

I was not aware something of this magnitude existed, nor the fact that there were actually maniacs with balls large enough to attack this aquatic beast of nature. Twice a year, between the months of February and March, the Atlantic Ocean waters roll up the Amazon river, in Brazil, generating the longest wave on the Earth. The phenomenon, known as the Pororoca, is caused by the tides of the Atlantic Ocean which meet the mouth of the river. This tidal bore generates waves up to 12 feet high which can last for over half an hour.

What was witnessed during this fantastic session of greenery were a group of surfing extraordinaries spitting in the face of Poseidon himself, riding this ginormous wave for 20 minutes at a time. One fucking wave for almost half an hour, bonkers! It basically bugged me out to the point I needed to do a piece on it, enjoy.

The Big mane, Mr. no-neck having, huge head with a little face mufuckah Lavell Crawford shines in this classic clip from Comicview or some shit. The piss-your-pants funny monologue describes his turbulent struggles and love/hate adventures delving in the atrocious and addictive hellspawn substance that is crack. Check out Pimp sweatin' out the all gold leather suit as he details all the reasons he hates crack ( in the third person of course ) mind you dudes eyes are bulging five inches out his face, but things get interesting when he starts to actually talk and have conversations with crack. Don't want to spoil it but crack eventually starts to talk like a Pimp, flippin' it on the fiend to get him to smoke. Insights and Highlifes: Review and Interview from the RawDawg Torrance Stephens

America's backyard is a culinary masterpiece served over an eclectic array of flavorful scents and spices. When all is said and done, and the gluttons have feasted, there remains a beautiful lining of leftover crumbs and ingredients typically overlooked but adorned by the elite as the most important proponents of all the dishes, the metaphorical "love" that went into every entrée, the heart of the country, the dirty fucking south.

Acclaimed author Dr. Torrance Stephens (Raw Dawg B the All M-I-T) delivers his blend of political opinions, satirical views, and straight hard body perspectives with a dash of southern comfort in a truly compelling collection of essays, "Dirt Behind My Ears". Entrenched with a libertarian position, (not liberal you numbnuts, visit the Cato Institute for clarification), on the gritty undertones on everything from music, fashion, and women to politics, the economy, and bitches, Dr. Stephens provides a refreshingly dope angle amidst all the extremely bias nonsense floating around the factory now of days. I mean, dude has a Ph.D. and he's rocking some sick aqua nikes and lampin on a rifle posted up over acres of backwoods for the cover of the book, tough.

While seeing eye-to-eye with every viewpoint is inherently impossible, ala Einstein's theory about this unique universe, Dr. T.S. hits it right on the money with his comparison of the Republican Party's excessive spending to that of the Democrats of yesteryear. (I couldn't agree more, they did a great job cutting taxes but how about controlling cash flow fellas?) One of my favorite pieces in the book was a small contribution entitled, "Sacraligi-Fried", where Stephens concludes the essay with the fact that you should always have "bread" at the crib because it would be sacrilegious to have a gorge of a meal without some bread to go with it, nah mean. The piercing perceptions laid out across the canvas are anything but mundane. Calling out all these new cliché phony rap acts as the age of the fuckboy and alluding to Hitchcock's "Birds" in another entry allowed me to certify this book as a b-b-b-banger, Pimpin' Pens stamp of approval homie!

So, Dr. Stephens crafts a fine piece of work allowing us to reconsider some of the world events that we have so prematurely brushed off this decade. From our country's overreactions to minuscule events blown out of proportion to our under appreciation for the loss of certain greats like Richard fucking Prior, Dr. T.S. drops some valid opinions on how we so conveniently forget to clean up the dirt behind our ears.

For the lames out there who aren't aware of the infamous Rawdawg Legacy give us a quick little bio.

Well mane, Memphis born and bread. Although folk been up in this camp since age 17, I'm still a Memphis mac first and foremost. I was born and raised in Castalia Heights, but moved down a few blocks away to south Parkway, then to parkway terrace. I guess it all started then. No detail with dirt, but I did have a pool in my backyard and gave the fi'est parties in flip town back in the day. Folks just started calling me all - mi- T. Used to be tBone. But the greatest good proffered divinity for your folk, being god by nature and such.

Then I went to Morehouse. Can't mention dirt – let's say I ran shit and kicked it there BDS (Big dic style too).

Whats' a typical day for the allmighty starting with the "Breakfast of Champions"
how did that come about and who are you musical influences.

Well really, when I had a woman, it would be her, followed by me tending to my kids. Used to coach aau basketball and lil league base ball. Had my boys since 4 to 14 then they went to high school. And the breakfast, just a morning cocktail. Tequila with a shot of hot sauce, mainly on weekends - like I said I got kids. Other wise that with a deuce deuce, what gives folk?
Used to be a time I'd go to Emory University, or Morehouse school of medicine, write some papers for scientific journals, wrote some grants, and I can't forget the travel to and from to Africa. Been blessed folk. Lived in Nigeria, Seneghal, Ethiopia and South Africa, and been to a host of other African Countries.

But I have to read a couple few news papers a day, check my investments, clean my guns, check on my flowers and walk my 11 acres. Most importantly kiss my kids and tell them I love them. Talks to a few ladies at night – I'm finished with dames and broads, write and read some history, philosophy or what not. A good day means we make a few songs so I can ride around in my pick up listening to them.

You were in the midst of a milestone in music history. What was the Memphis music scene like back in the day and what are you views on the current state to Memphis Rap.

Well most of the folks that made it were basically hit the clubs as DJs. Chanting of fat beats, or they were basically selling stuff on the streets. Like *ball & MJG, Skiny Pimp, Gangsta Pat, DJ Squeeky, Tom Skeemask, Criminal Mane and folk like that. And in the clubs, strip clubs included, all you heard was Memphis cats dropping Memphis ling of Memphis heavy bass and strong high hat beats. You could go to Overton Park on Sunday and everybody would be slanging tapes. It was cool then. The only problem was like I said, the Bluff city, one-town, flip town or Memphis was click tight and none of them folks wanted to work with nobody or else they would be literally tearing the club up. Then there was the fact that pimping was bigger than hip hop at the time and more loot could be made from that.

You mention that you bump a lot of NWA and Oldschool Memphis shit like Playa fly, Gangsta black, - who else do you consider you fav. emcees/groups.

Well Three six, UGK, Mos Def, Reakwon of the Wu, Jean Grae, Rakim, Big L, , Immortal Technique, and mayb a few more. But of the new cats, DG Yola, and many of them folk my boys Mook B and Born Immaculate be lacing beats for on Bankhead.

What drove you to pursue a writing career, and who are some of your favorite authors and books. Are you into Hunter S. Thompson, Burroughs, Vonnegut or any of the "Beat writers?"

Truthfully, don't really favor none of them folk. Me like, uh, Voltaire, Langeston Huges, Iceburg Slim, Herman Hesse, Albert Camus, Pablo Neurda, Countee Cullen, Sterling Brown, Nella Larse, Edgar Poe, Trey Ellis, Maya Angelo, Alexander Dumas and Aniss Ninn (sp) are some of the few that come straight off the dome, ficton and verse that is, but I really prefer history and philosophy and science. I really dig Chekih nta Diop, Hegel, Satre and and thinking folk like them.

What music do you bump that isn't of the rap/hip-hop genre?

Tchacoskivy (love William Tell overture and 1812). Linton Kwesi Johnson, Gil Scott and Of course my favs, Funkadelic and Prince. And jazz, Sade, Oscar Peterson, Milt Jackson,. Love me some Zepplin, Lynard Skynard, Almon Brothers, Steely Dan, you name it I love muzk. Al Green.

You often claim South Parkway, describe to me the urban backdrop of South Parkway. Any memories of you as a rambunctious youngster with soon to be future rappers getting into trouble on the streets of South Parkway. Also I hear the term SPV thrown around a lot, but never was able to decipher its meaning. I figure it is an acronym for something, but what?

I was one of the only folk to have a pool in my backyard, so I gave parties and it was the shit. Eating Paynes BBQ smoke sausages and Jack Pyrtle Chicking and drinking Fight Cock Whiskey and chiefing – the life.

We just kicked it and its close knit. My best friend to this day folks founded the 4th largets black ins company in America and 12 largest black bank. So those with loot AND WITHOUT LOOT AND INBETWEEN KICKED IT LIKE FOLK. But its raw dawg folk, if u can make it in Memphis you can make it any where. Everybody think they the shit.

Well me is click clack. Every body know everybody. Im from Shophertown (sp like a car driver) in between Castalia and Glenview park. Memphis is a town were slang is created, from folk and main, to calling everybody Jones – generic. Like pimp jones, Gay Jones, weak Jones. Ect. We also make phrases. My books are all about Memphis and my charcters are mainly Memphis niggas. We used to say "Fast N gamin, never changing". Or pimp was professional in the management of a prostitute, until I came up and we spelled it PPIMP (putting paper in my pocket." So Three 6 made a lot of loot off of stuff all cats said in the clubs, like "Tear the club up:, "Make a stang – we used to have cats from cali and NYC come up in our camp thinking we slow, so we play the slow card and jack them – not me of course never.

You've been on the peripheries of the Memphis hip-hop music scene since practically its inception. I'm sure you've seen a substantial amount of emcees come and go. In your mind, is there one enduring quality that an emcee might posses that separate them from the rest of the herd. It's amazing how many talented young artists have fallen by the wayside over the years.

You've inspired the Pimpin Pens crew to become more politically conscious with your blogs and their socio-economic and political slant. What newspapers, and magazines help form your passionate opinions and social commentary.

The Wall Street Journal, I love political op-eds, used to watch and adore the mind of the posthumous William Bucly, The Paris Review, the Economist, the Jersulum Times, Das Speigal, Miami Herald, Atlanta Jounal Constitution by default, Finincial Times, and some other papers mostly in Africa.

I understand that you are an avid NPR (National Public Radio) listener. What is it about NPR that you find so appealing?

Original no slant eporting on things that make a man think. And the use great grammer and sentence structure. I like my kids to listen to it instead of the fuckboy shit on the radio and it may lead to a semi descent vocabulary for them one day.

I see that you've recorded over 7000 songs since 1987; do you have formal training in any musical instruments?

Since 1984. I read and write music. Played in jr and high school band – precussion. Was the Tympani, chimes, bells and marimba player during concert season. Other wise tenor drums and cymbals – love cymbals, they loud. And sang in church choir growing up since a youngin'.

You hold yourself and your community to very high standards, do you ever get into disagreements with your folk in the rap game regarding the often less then savory material found in their records.

Yes I do, a lot of these fol are merely studio or microphone gangsters. The True True don't even desire to get down lie that. Lie when Jeezy gave a scholarship for a thousand dollars – laudable true, but It will barely buy books,I done seen Jones drop 17 stacks in a strip club. That's fouls fuck boy shit to me, so I mentioned it at a press conference he had bragging on his 1 stack scholarship – wasn't taken well and I will leave it at that.

In commemoration of Bobby Digital month here at Pimpin Pens' its time to lace you fools with some tru space age pimpin if I do say so myself. When it comes to futuristic rowdy bounty hunter style raps, nobody freaks it better than my main man Rza from the slums of Shaolin. He goes by many aliases'-Bobby Digital, Prince Rakeem, The Abbott, Bobby Steels, RulerZigZagZigallah, Rzarectah and maybe even more that I can't seem to recollect off the top of the dome at the moment. This dude is widely considered the single most influential producer in the rap game. I however, like to think of him as one of the most underrated emcees the rap game has bestowed upon us. In his early formative rap years his style was real in-your-face raspy and raw like Ol Dirty, as evinced in his verses from the early recordings of the Wu Tang satellite group, Gravediggaz-as well as the seminal magnum opus Enter The Wu 36 Chambers. However during the period of around 97-98 he started to slowly metamorphose into his spliff smoking, chickenhead groping, alter-ego Bobby Digital. Bobby Digital, as Rza explains it, is a self-proclaimed hethon and reveler in all things debauchery. In the never released (and widely discoursed by fans) film Bobby Digital he transforms into his menacing alter-ego through a botched experiment in his laboratory with a new synthetic blend of herbs to lace in his blunt, thereby undergoing the radical transfiguration from Rza to Bobby Digital. Perhaps my favorite album of all time is Rza's debut: Rza as Bobby Digital in Stereo, because of its capability to magically whisks me off into a whimsical world of blunts, sherm, bitches, superheros, Volkswagen Bugs, phaser beams, gamma rays, cyborgs, hard-to-spot microdots and all things bugged out. Some people might say that the Rza was set trippin (too crazy) on this release, and that he strayed too far from his Rzarectah roots. I applaud him for his balsy efforts and take my hat off and commend Rza for his grandiose vision of a world where analog cats fall by the wayside and only the tru digital shoguns persevere. Enjoy this musical medley of some of Rza's finest work, and witness the slow evolution of his style from Rza to Bobby Digi, as I chronologically ordered these videos to showcase the metamorphosis. If you don't feel this shit I don't want you loitering around here no more. Catch up with your kind-my team is a magazine of M-16's-remember that! I used to hate those hip hop hipster elitists who were always ranting and raving about hip hop being dead, but now I am beginning to echo their sentiments. I attribute this new found onset of hip hop apathy to the fact that all of my favorite rap artists have degenerated into shells of their former selves. Wu Tang came out with their first album in like 7 years, and I couldn't even get into it because Ghostface and Raekwon were talking shit about it before it even came out in stores; thereby completely deadening my anticipation leading up to its release. On top of that, you've got my other former favorite rap group Three Six Mafia now dwindled down to a mere duo-formerly a sextet (group consisting of 6 members) performing songs with the likes of Justin Timberlake, T-Pain, Paris Hilton, Bow Wow, and Good Charlotte. I have no animosity for these "pop" artists, however I must say that I don't think it is necessarily a good fit for them to be collaborating with Three Six Mafia (the old 36 that is), the new 36 seems to embrace this idea of Hollywood, with all of its material trappings and false idolatry. In that sense they are a perfect marriage of pop stars, which enables them to make more cheese. I can't hate, but I won't be bamboozled into thinking that 36 still represents to the extent that they did in the When The Smoke Clears 6661 days. Hollywood is fraught with fakeness and bitchmadeness and I think that the Triple Six have become corrupted by its glorification of these ideals. Maybe I'm getting a little too fire and brimstonish here, but I'm deeply saddened by these unfortunate turn of events. A part of me wishes that it was still 1998 where the Wu Tang and the Triple Six were both still in their prime making nothing but gangsta shit for lack of a better term. However, I know that it is selfish for me to think that these groups can both restore back the feeling of mid 90's gangsta rap. After all they both put in enough dirt in the rap game to have the luxury of resting on their laurels. I just wish I could see the old triple six in all their former glory and splendor turn it out on a reunion tour and album, but that won't happen. If they only knew how much money everybody could make if they did another Prophet Posse album produced by Paul and Juice. I rescind that comment, I'm not so sure if a Prophet Posse album produced by Paul and Juice would be as dope as I previously thought. I've noticed that not only has Paul and Juice sold out but they are no longer capable of producing truly gangster evil music anymore. All their shit now is like booty shakin junts and club anthems, no more hardcore shit. I think the whole change in musical content came when they won the Academy Award, that's when their production took a turn for the worse I'm afraid. But I guess they kept it as gutter as long as they possibly could until they couldn't take it anymore and were forced to defect to the dark side of the force. There is only a handful of rappers that I can rely on now to bring that pure uncut funk that is so wonderfully encapsulated by people like T-Rock, Mr. Sche, and Lord Infamous. I can go on for days naming people in the rap game who still have potential to turn it out like the days of yesteryear, but for some reason the aforementioned names are the first to come into mind and are like the holy trinity, or last of the jedi knights if you will- maybe that's because these dudes were one of the only ones who kept it real from jump street with us. Regardless, I'm now in anti-rap mode bumping some of the shit that I used to listen to as a little jit. I present you with some more trill shit from the other side of the tracks. I have no agenda with these non-rap bangers, only that they just appear in my head out of nowhere and I'm obligated to put it down for the nation and to school the unschooled in that triple og shit. I will try my hardest to encompass all types of genres spanning the entire musical spectrum, so as to be as impartial and eclectic as possible. The following diddy is the Heavy Metal group Metallica-interestingly enough, back in the day before they "sold out" their damn selves. It is of the utmost importance that we acquaint ourselves with music that is transcendant in its appeal. Check it!
